About Marcello Arrambide, The Wandering Trader

Marcello Arrambide in India

One of the special moments in my life when I invited my mother to India and had her share my dream with me of living life with complete freedom

April 11th 1984:  I was born in a small town in the third world country of Venezuela called Merida.

We came to the USA with nothing when I was very young.

At 13: I was already working two jobs (under the table) not to buy what I needed, not what I wanted.

At 16: I was going to school while working four jobs, and doing extra-curricular activities like Soccer (“Football” to the rest of us) and weight training.

I was working for my freedom.

At 17: Ditched the extra-curriculars, choosing to only do high school for 3 classes with OTJ trainging (on-the-job training) and still worked those same four jobs.  I was the obsessive salesman, the quintessential “fanatical entrepreneur”.

I was doing everything possible to reach my dream. The dream of having my freedom.

So about those four jobs…when cd-burning software first came out, I burned cd’s and sold them for $5 to $10 a pop.  I worked at a bakery and took the leftovers to school and sold them to students and even the teachers and administrators for breakfast.

Shortly after that, I upped the stakes by flying to New York City to find a contact in China to have purses and wallets shipped to me directly to sell. I was doing everything possible to try to obtain my freedom.

Each and every summer I would head out of town to take advantage of college courses in an effort to finish high school (secondary).  I worked in real estate and did everything else possible to make ends meet….working paycheck to paycheck. I still didn’t know how I was going to pay for college. It seemed insurmountable.

Working, going to school full time, and trying to have a social life was just too daunting. But what can one do?

I was always tied to a location, to always had to “go back somewhere.”  How exactly was I to obtain my freedom if I am relying on others to receive a paycheck?  I wanted to be a master of my own destiny and life live on my own terms.  I was never any good at receiving orders and working for someone else and I wanted to be able to work and live anywhere my heart desired.

Then I heard about the incredible amounts of money that one could make in the stock market.  And as any other young man would I immediately wanted to get started as I was easily intrigued.

By the way, I am now 18 and just out of high school. I decided to take $25,000 in private student loans to finance my career.  I unprepared after performing too little in research spent nearly $10,000 on my first trading software to start making money day trading.

Life and the definition of success were never about money for me it was about being able to have my freedom.

  • Freedom to not worry about money
  • Freedom to have a high quality of life
  • Freedom to travel the world

I worked full time, went to school full time, and pulled all-nighters 2 or 3 days out of every week and still managed to blow through those loans in a matter of months.

Yes, I lost the entire $25,000 in student loans. In one month.

I was still working minimum wage, which at that point was about $8 / hour. Was I ever going to be able to pay that money back? Should I borrow more money, or even continue day trading since I was so busy trying to get my life in order?  I wasn’t deterred, I’ve always been a man of strong convictions.  I did countless hours of back-testing, spoke with a myriad number of traders, and finally reached the beginning of what I call FREEDOM.

Today: I have been successfully day-trading in the markets for approx. a decade.  I have to work day-trading in the stock market for 1-2 hours a day and have decided to help others along the way. After all, how can you be a true master if you can’t teach what you do to others? With my Day Trading Academy using strategies I have developed over my career I have been able to train others to obtain their own financial freedom.

The only thing I truly need is high speed internet connection and a computer anywhere around the world.  Upon this realization in 2009, I decided to start traveling and reached the point where I wanted to have a new lifestyle.  My journey that has now taken me around the world many times and the thing I cherish most in this world is my ability to life a live on my own terms.

After visiting roughly 80 countries, all 7 continents and even getting kidnapped and detained in some of the most dangerous places in the world, I have decided to call Medellin, Colombia. But the difference is that now I chose to be there.  I am opening a day trading center here in in the city of Medellin, where I will be training locals to learn how to day trade.  We recently purchased a 5-bedroom penthouse here in Colombia to house the new center and set everything up successfully.

We have started offering internships at one of the most prominent university in South America called EAFIT to train others about finance and investing. So now we are fusing two of my passions: Day-trading and traveling. By creating day-trading centers around the world to create other traders that also wander the world.

But we will still have the same fetters: A need for money, a reliable internet connection and the unshakeable addiction of pursuing our dreams. At least we will be able to take care of the money aspect for ourselves and not ask anyone else to do it for us. Join our program and free yourself of the money addiction.
